Dear HHS Alumni,

Even with the challenges of 2020, construction is well underway on the new Hendersonville High School. Building completion is still on target for 2023, and the finished product looks to be a seamless blending of the old and new.

It is impressive that a high school as small as Hendersonville High School has an alumni association that has raised more than $244,000 over the last 12 years to give graduating seniors Heritage Scholarships. This does not include the other endowed scholarships awarded that now total $484,822

This all began in 2009, when some alumni came up with the idea to give a scholarship to graduating seniors and raised enough money to give four $500 scholarships. We have expanded our outreach to our alumni over the years and have given the following $1,000 Heritage Alumni Scholarships each successive year: 10 in 2010, 18 in 2011, 27 in 2012, 32 in 2013, 29 in 2014, 19 in 2015, 24 in 2016, 25 in 2017, 19 in 2018, 22 in 2019, and even 17 in 2020.

Now we are asking your help to expand even more in 2021. In keeping with the spirit of the Bearcat Family, we ask that you join us in helping these young people in their post high school journey with a donation to the

Heritage Alumni Scholarship (HASF).

We welcome any amount and creative approaches you or your graduating class may have. For example, we have had one anonymous donor from the Class of 1955 who has donated $5,555.55 each year since 2016 in honor of all his classmates. Last year the Class of 1969 awarded a $1,969 scholarship and, the Class of 1979 in honor of their 40th reunion last year awarded a $1,979 scholarship. The HHSAA Scholarship recipients understand they are part of a special family whose bonds go on long after they receive their diplomas. We encourage you to visit the HHSAA website to view names and photos of the past graduates who have benefited from the HASF. We are blessed to be a part of such a caring and supportive Bearcat family and it is your continued generosity that will make this gift to our newest graduates a reality.

We have mailed letters to some alumni and you may have received one. However, if you wish to make a donation this year via PayPal or credit card, please visit the Alumni website http://www.hhsaa.com and click the link Donate. If you wish to pay by check please make check payable to HHSAA and specify "2021 Scholarship Fund" and mail to:

1 Bearcat Boulevard

Hendersonville, NC 28791

Although 2021 Homecoming plans have not been made, If your class is having a reunion this year, please let us know so we can include you in the upcoming homecoming plans. Also, if you or members of your class wish to do a one time or reoccurring donation towards a scholarship and have questions or want to discuss with the members of the board please contact the HHSAA through the website or email at info@hhsaa.com. Thank you so much for your support. Go Bearcats!

Sincerely,
