If you missed the April premiere of The Chapel Hill Two-Step featuring the stories of several HHS State Championship Basketball teams, you can now view this documentary film by Keith Dunnavant at his award winning
Prep Legends website, Preplegends.com. The Tin Can Man, a film about the 1972 State 3A Champions may also be viewed at this site.
The Chapel Hill Two-Step focuses on the extraordinary 1987 Men’s and Women’s State 1A Championships won that same year in Chapel Hill. Coaches Bobby Wilkins and Jack Johnson carried forward the winning tradition started by Coach Ted Carter that began with State Basketball Championships in in 1948, 1949, and 1952. Wilkins also coached HHS to his second Men’s championship in 1992.
Keith Dunnavant is a superb storyteller, film maker, author and now an honorary Bearcat.
